Former Journey Frontman, Robert Fleischman, Reunites with Neil Schon On the New Enuff Z’Nuff Album, "Extra Cherries"

Robert Fleischman, former frontman for the bands Journey and The Vinnie Vincent Invasion, has released a new song with his former Journey bandmate, Neil Schon. The song, Shine, is the first collaboration between the two since 1977’s Journey album, Infinity, and is featured on Enuff Z’Nuff’s new album, Extra Cherries.

Shine is “power pop at its best,” said Fleischman. The song developed while Chip Z’Nuff of Enuff Z’Nuff (Blue Island, IL’s revered band that made a name for itself on MTV in the 80s and 90s) was recording their new album. “Chip had some unfinished tracks that he recorded with Neil Schon (Journey) and Donnie Vie (Enuff Z’Nuff). It just needed lyrics and someone to sing vocals,” said Fleischman. That’s when Fleischman stepped in and put the “Extra Cherries” on top.

Almost everyone knows Robert Fleischman’s musical work. He co-wrote Wheel in the Sky, Anytime, and other songs while lead vocalist with the band Journey. Fleischman’s musical contributions helped establish the Journey sound that we know today. He was included with the band when Journey received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005. 

In 1988, Fleischman teamed up with Vinnie Vincent (KISS) as the lead singer for 1988’s hard-rock classic, The Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Other musical contributions include Fleischman’s band, The Sky; songs for Gene Simmons Vault box set; and several solo albums.
